Group 0/1 Car seats explained by BabyBabyShop advisors

Group 0+ and 1 car seats are much larger and heavier than group 0 seats and do not have a carrying handle. They are designed for babies from 9kg/20lb (nine to 12 months approx) to 18kg/40lb (four years old approx). They should be used rear-facing for babies up to 13kg/29lb (12-15 months approx). The car seat can be used forward-facing when your child is over 9kg/20lb and able to sit unsupported.
They are designed to be left in the car, and not to be used as portable carriers. Some have a five-point harness and use the car's seatbelt or Isofix to hold the seat firmly in place. Most seats can be set at various reclining postions for comfort.

Group 0+/1 car seats are designed to be permanently fitted in the car.
They are from birth to four years old (18kg)
They should be used rear-facing for babies up to 13kg/29lb (12 months approx), and then forward facing.

They can be fitted using the car's seatbelt or the Isofix system (if your car is compatible). Most seats can be set at various reclining postions for comfort.

BabyBaby tip 1: Never buy a car seat without trying it in your car first!

BabyBaby tip 2: Place baby in the car seat, put your 1st 2 fingers between baby and the harness then pull the shoulder harness tight against your fingers. This will ensure a tight fit without squeezing baby.
